In preparation for our European tour in 2020, the Corps will focus its efforts on revamping the current musical program and will be dedicating our energies on learning new selections.

King Street, from Ida Lee Drive to Fairfax DrivePut on your patriotic best and join your friends and neighbors to celebrate the birthday of the United States! This year’s parade will also feature the 13th annual Patriot’s Cup Competition, sponsored by the Loudoun Now newspaper. This award will go to the best parade entry; winners’ names will be engraved on the Patriot Cup, which will be on display at Town Hall.
Back this year is the American Originals Fife and Drum Corps, sponsored by Toth Financial. This traditional corps adds a patriotic sound to the parade and is a favorite among parade viewers. The group will perform at the intersection of King and Market Street as a prelude to the parade. Plan to arrive downtown by 9:45 am to hear the fife and drums before the parade kicks off.

First Capital Fife & Drum Muster

The Central York Middle School (CMYS) Fife and Drum Corps is celebrating its 50th anniversary season during the 2021–2022 school year and will host a 50th Anniversary Muster in downtown York PA on Friday, October 1 and at People’s Bank Stadium on October 2. The CMYS Corps was founded in September 1971 by CYMS Band Director Ken Matthews and has been going strong ever since. In the last 40 years, the CYMS Fifes and Drums have been a musical ambassador for the Central York community as well as the greater York Community having traveled and performed in famous venues such as New York City’s Lincoln Center, Fort Ticonderoga, Philadelphia’s Independence National Park, and Colonial Williamsburg.
The American Originals Fife & Drum Corps is honored to have been invited to participate. We will perform at various events on Friday during the town festival and on Saturday afternoon in the parade and muster.
